The current study aimed at investigating Jabra Ibrahim Jabra’s novels based on archetypal criticism perspective and the emergence of the collective unconscious dimension and mythology in the author’s works. It was hypothesized that the author has focused on the archetypes or the collective unconscious level of the mind. The main research question was whether the author’s novels can be reexamined based on hero archetype criticism and his return, death and rebirth. The selected novels by Jabra Ibrahim Jabra were analyzed using analytic-documentary methods on the basis of archetypal criticism. They were further analyzed via the return of hero archetypes, death and rebirth as well as the manifestation of archetype symbols of trees, mountains, valleys, caves, springs, wells and numbers. The analysis of the results reveal that hero archetypes, death and rebirth have been represented in Jabra’s novels and the author has employed symbols and mythologies  to render them more meaningful. نقد کهن­الگویی که مبتنی بر نقد روان­شناختی است، یکی از رویکردهای اصلی نقد ادبی معاصر به شمار می­رود که به کشف ماهیت و ویژگی اسطوره و کهن­الگوها و نقش آن‌ها در ادبیات می­پردازد.  هدف از این پژوهش بررسی رمان­های جبرا ابراهیم جبرا براساس دیدگاه نقد کهن الگویی و ظهور بعد ناخودآگاه جمعی و اسطوره در آثار این نویسنده است. فرضیه پژوهش براین مدعا است که این نویسنده در آثار خود به سطح ناخودآگاه جمعی ذهن یا کهن الگوها توجه داشته است. سوال اصلی پژوهش این است که آیا می توان رمان های جبرا را براساس نقد کهن الگوهای قهرمان و بازگشت او و مرگ و تولد دوباره تحلیل و بررسی کرد؟ رمان‌های برگزیده شده از آثار جبرا ابراهیم جبرا به روش تحلیلی- اسنادی بر اساس  نقد کهن الگویی، بررسی و بر اساس کهن الگوهای قهرمان و بازگشت او و مرگ و تولد دوباره و تبلور نمادهای کهن الگویی درخت، کوه، دره، غار، چشمه، چاه و اعداد و توجه به برخی اسطوره‌ها در رمان‌های وی تحلیل شده است. از یافته‌های پژوهش در می‌یابیم که رمان‌های جبرا کهن الگوهای قهرمان و مرگ و تولد دوباره نمود یافته و نویسنده از نمادها و اساطیر برای معنا بخشی بیشتر به آن‌ها بهره گرفته‌است. https://mcal.yazd.ac.ir/article_721_704bba6dd595fba5c66aab5b2cc84b3c.pdf
